Originally released in 2002 on Ginger Leigh's CD of the same title, Charge Laughing has become a fan favorite across the globe. The decision to release a new version was made simply because it is a timeless message that Ginger Leigh has been sharing as the closing song to her shows for 14 years. The new updated version highlights Leigh's ability to grow and stay contemporary. You can download this track before it is released on the forthcoming album.
I'm not so sure how this came to be.
This big big world and little old me
Running around on this slippery ground that I found beneath my feet.
Well, there's a big big place that you can fill,
filling me up with sympathy,
but that can't change the me who is me.
There isn't much that makes me shock.
Surprises they come around the clock
I just charge laughing maniacally.
I charge laughing.
Well I call home, wherever that may be.
To send my love and my stupid stories.
Right now I'm sending them to the pawn shop half way down the street.
I fill my tank with whatever will come.
Water, red wine, or bubble gum.
And it clanks and it bangs or it sings out prettily.
I charge laughing.
People of the world lay flat on your back.
Take the blows, spit it out and simply relax.
Because life's like this and I laugh maniacally.
I know I come across sarcastically
but this is what connects you to me.
It's my tone that you don't know if you should take seriously.
But with all that is shining and all that is blinding
I whisper to the wind to carry my winding
through this maniac life that I leave behind me.
I charge laughing.
ONWARD AND FORWARD AND LAUGHING I GO…..
